Hawks Start Weekend Strong!
June 24 The 10u Gold Hawks started the Rip'n it Up tourney with a 13-0 pasting of the Cincy Static, the 12u Hawks administered a whoop'n of their own, winning 11-2 against the Dirt Divas.

At the Gene Harvey memorial, our 16u girls followed up their Thursday night league double-header sweep with another win, going 5-2 over the Cinci Chaos. The Hawks 14u plays Saturday morning at 9am ... go get'm girls!
Hawks grab 2 First's and a Second
June 14 The 10u Black Hawks placed 2nd at Expressway Park Sunday, besting the Cinci Slammers and Southern Ohio Express to reach the Championship game. In Vandalia, the 10u Gold Hawks and 12u Hawks tallied their #1 seeding into a tourney Championship.

Strong Saturday for Hawks in Vandalia
June 13 The Hawks teams had a strong 9-3 record on Saturday in Vandalia. The 10u Gold and 12u squads went 3-0 to capture the #1 seed in their age groups. The 14u rallied from a first game loss to win their next 2 games a capture a #2 seed.

At Expressway park the 10u Black team finished the day beating the Cinci Slammers and face the Southern Ohio Express tomorrow.
Hawks 10u Win ASA Regional Qualifier!
June 7 The 10u Gold Ohio Hawks extended their 2009 record to 5 straight tourney wins and a Sunday record of 15-0.

The Hawks went undefeated at the Heat'n It Up ASA Eastern National Qualifier.
Hawks Early Bird Tourney is Huge Success!
June 1st The Hawks want to thank all the teams that participated in the Early Bird tournament this past weekend. Weather was great, play was intense and no serious injuries.

The Hawks have raised over $4,000 in the past two weeks from our golf scramble and tournament. Look for a special announcement here about us securing a full size indoor training facility for our players to train in this winter... the Hawk Academy!

The Ohio Hawks also want to welcome a new 2010 10u Head Coach Dan Kepple. Dan will join us next season and will be coaching 1 of our (2) 10u squads. Dan will bring several girls with him from the Miamisburg / Greater Dayton area. Our goal next season is to field two 10u, 12u and possibly 14u squads!
2009 Season Begins
May 23rd The Hawks 10u black and 12u squads competed at rip-n it up in Wilmington. The 10u Black finished 1-2-1 and the 12u finished in 2nd place - earning a USSSA WS bid for Orlando in July. Congrat's on the strong showing...

May 16th
The Hawks 10u Gold team won their 3rd straight tournament this season - "Spring Training" at Pastime Park. The Hawks won the Championship game 4-2 in 7 innings.

Apr 25th
The Hawks 2009 Fastpitch 10u/12u season began this weekend at the Static Phanatic in Hebron Ky. The Hawks 10u Gold team bested the field going 4-0, outscoring their opponents 35-7 to win the tournament - their 2nd in as many tries. The 12u Hawks had a strong showing as well, finishing 2nd to a very strong Cinci Static team.

For the 10u, Kianah Towe threw a no-hitter against the Static, striking out 18 of 21 batters, in a game that went 0-0 to the 7th inning. The Hawks won the game 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th on a steal of home by Jade Spriggs.

May 30, 31st The Hawks announce their 2009 Early Bird Challenge Tournament to be hosted at Rivershore Sports Complex.

Announcing the Ohio Hawks Fastpitch Finale

This O.H.F.A. Fastpitch Finale (2010 USSSA WSQ-Disney World) will be held in Hunter, Ohio (between Cincinnati and Dayton). We will offer rec/all-star and select divisions for 10,12,14,16 and 18U age groups.

Congrat's to Hawks Coaches

The Ohio Hawks congratulate 3 coaches recently named to coach at local schools. Hawks 14u coach Derek Jacobs was named to the Varsity head coach position at Dixie HS, 14u coach Ron Staton was named as assistant coach. Hawks 10u head coach, Doug Lenos, was named Head Coach of Madison's Jr High squad.

These coaches continue the Hawks mission of giving back to the fastpitch community. Coach Jacobs also complete the NFCA Master Coaches Certification. Congat's all.

Hawks Fundraisers are a Great Success

Thank you to all the Hawk families for participating in our fall fundraisers, Land of Illusion parking and Papa Murphy's pizza. We raised over $11,000 for Hawks families and their daughters accounts. If you are not participating in the 2009 Kroger Gift card program be sure to sign-up, we have many Hawks families earning $40 per month for just shopping at Kroger. Look for information about our latest program, Great Lakes Scrip Center soon.


Hawks end Fall Season Strong

The 10u and 14u Hawks teams finished the fall ball season by placing 3rd in their respective tournaments this weekend. The 10u Hawks went 4-2 in Greenville, winning a hard fought final game 4-3 in 7 innings.

Kianah Towe pitched 7 innings, recording 15 strikeouts and only 3 walks. Makenzie Oney had a home run, Natalie Higgins a double and Bailey Davis a 2-run double to break open the game.


Hawks Secure Indoor Practice Facilities

The Ohio Hawks have reached agreements with Kingdom Sports Center and Cage Time training facility for use of their indoor facilities.

The agreement will provide our five teams with a weekly indoor training location during the winter months. Great teams are made in the off-season - our squads will be training weekly all winter honing their skills for 2009.


Hawks Secure Fields

The Ohio Hawks have reached an agreement with the Hunter softball association, HYRA, for use of their softball diamonds in 2009. The agreement will provide our teams with a permanent practice location and host location for a planned 2009 fast pitch tournament. 

Hawks 14u Finish 3rd in Valley Storm Trny

Ron Staton's
14u squad came out strong this fall, going 4-1 at the Valley Storm tournament in Tipp City. The Hawks cruised on Saturday, besting SDS, Diamond Dominators and Lady Niners. Megan Hiler was the pitching star on Saturday, with Tiara Towe, Ashten Jacobs and Allison Lenos all stroking stand-up triples to lead the hit parade.

Sunday morning they defeated the SDS 13u squad in a hard fought 3-2 victory before eventually losing to the Lady Mustangs. The Hawks were awarded 3rd place due to allowing the fewest runs in the pool play.

Hawks Batting Instruction
Ken Cox will be conducting batting lessons from two locations, Go Deep in Middletown and Cage Time in Tri-County. The cost for an individual private lesson is $32, or (2) Hawks players can train together for $40 total.

September 21st was the official signing day for all 2009 Ohio Hawks players at Franklin Community Park.

Miami Redhawk Day -
The Hawks players traveled to Miami University in Oxford to watch the Redhawks battle the Wright State Raiders on Sept. 27th.

After the game we went on the field and in the dugout with our 'sister' Hawks for photos and a chance to meet with all the players.

Hawks 10u 'Black' Announcement
We are proud to announce that we will field two 10u teams in 2009. Led by coach Brian O'Hair, the 10u Hawks 'Black' squad will be on the hunt next season along with the 10u 'Gold' team headed up by Doug Lenos.


Hawks Officer Roles Filled
Congratulations to the following Hawk parents that have accepted positions within the organization...

Derek Jacobs - Organization Scheduler and Tournament Director -
Derek will work with our coaches to produce our 2009 tournament and league schedules. In addition, Derek will be working with the Executive Board as we look to secure an agreement with a local facility to provide the Hawks with a 'Home Complex". Our goal is to host several tournaments in 2009, including a world series qualifier. Look for an important announcement soon!


Amy Carpenter - Organization Uniform and Spiritwear - Amy will coordinate our 2009 uniform, spirit wear and team equipment orders to provide our teams with the best gamewear and training equipment in the area.

Missie Towe - Organization Fundraising - Missie will coordinate our 2009 fundraising and corporate donation campaigns. Our Hawk families will only need to pay $150 out of pocket this season to play due to our planned fundraising efforts.

2008 USSSA World Series Update and WS Blog

Hawks Rock Socks!  Both the 10 and 12u Hawks advanced in the sweet 16 before exiting the 2008 USSSA World Series in Orlando, FLA. The 12u squad finished up 13th out of 40 teams, the 10u 13th out of 30 teams. congrat's Ladies...well done.

Hawks 10u Gold ranked #5 in Ohio according to 6/1 OFC Coaches Poll. The girls have won all 4 tourney's they have played this season and are going for win #5 this weekend.
